In 2018 Adam and Natalie Este were dedicated to making a difference saving and training blind horses and giving them their retirement as a hobby.
In 2022 a passionate and dedicated group formed and created this safe haven for blind equine to live normal lives just as their sighted friends. In doing so, we also make room for all sighted equine in need. The sighted are rehabilited and trained before being adopted to the general public. Some of the blind may be adoptable but most of them live in sanctuary here for the remainder of their lives. To give back to the public, we provide free educational classes and events to learn about and even ride a blind equine!
We are totally volunteer based and no one makes any money here to assure that all funding goes directly to the equines needs.
We have a full vet team, 3 volunteer farriers and 2 volunteer blind equine trainers.
When schools are cancelled and roads are not being plowed due to severe weather, we are still volunteering. 🙏 We have no sick days off and any days off don't exist in our world.
We do not have grass on our 17 acres, so we provide hay 24/7 , 365 days a year. Grain, medicines and supplements are also provided depending on their individual needs.
Updated, October 30th 2024, we just had 4 horses have double eye removal surgeries. The cost was $4,784.06 and we raised it all! Thank you angels!

Chance
Came in as a 5 year old fully blind Morgan cross gelding also known as the terrified scarecrow. I suspect with his baby wolf teeth he is younger and after intake, I discovered he is half blind! He will be going through extensive rehabilitation and training and if someone wants to experience the blind, he may be adoptable. Chance came from the Southern Wisconsin Second Chance kill pen, so no
Honey Bun
A possibly pregnant 20 year old half blind Belgium mare. Wed love for her to be adopted in the future but she always has a place here if no interest in her. She came from the Wisconsin Second Chance kill pen and there is no other history on her. She is very curious but also timid and so far she is bonded to the 5 yr old Morgan Cross gelding.
11 1/2 year old fully blind Snippet arrived from Tennessee to be a permanent resident here. She is pictured with her owner, a nationwide trainer of 45 years. Unfortunately he had a medically life threatening illness appear and so his main focus was placing her somewhere experienced where she'd be taken care of forever. We are honored to do this for you sir. Praise God
Half Blind Sunny Bunny arrived from HOC Rose Sanctuary Rescue in Minnesota to be in training with Natalie. Sunny was doing so well it was determined she just stay here with approval from her Minnesota residence.
